RELIGIOUS leaders from the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (Pepp) and Sowing Seeds of Peace in Northern Mindanao were elated with the positive development on the back channel talks that concluded on Saturday at Utrecht, The Netherlands between the government and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). Despite the ongoing clashes on the ground between communist rebels and government soldiers, Presidential Peace Adviser Jess Dureza announced that the peace talks are set to resume.
KIANGAN, Ifugao — Ifugaos from various sectors and municipalities gathered for a multi-stakeholder peace forum themed, “Understanding the Peace Process” on December 2 at Bolog, Kiangan. The forum was organized by the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (PEPP), in partnership with the Ifugao Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) and the Pun-oohaan di Nungkanomnoman ad Ifugao (Ifugao Elders Alliance).
Peace advocates clearly expressed their appreciation to President Rodrigo Duterte by making the Peace Talks with the NDFP a primary concern. They ask the Filipino people to be vigilant and participate in the Peace Process.
