DAVAO CITY, Philippines — If the government and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines achieved a final peace agreement, Mindanao, where Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte came from, stands to gain much from it, peace advocates said.

Church leaders in the Philippines called on the government and communist rebels to come up with a more positive outcome when peace negotiations between the two sides resume early next month.

Mindanaoans lauded joyfully the resumption of the peace talks! They commit to support, accompany and own the peace talks and calls for the GRP-NDFP to keep on track of peace towards the resolution of the roots of the armed conflict to usher just and lasting peace.
